Shri Sameer Dombey, a young engineer from Dombewadi in Daund taluka of Pune district, quit his job and planted figs in his own farm with the aim of developing his village and encouraged the farmers of the village to plant figs as well. Inspiring Story- Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation, Pune with the help of Magnet and Agriculture Department organized a one-day workshop on mango cultivation and post-harvest losses reduction with the relevant experts from Solapur on Thursday, 30th October 2025. Group Captain (Retd) Pratap Singh Pardeshi Sir, a 94-year-old young personality, visited the workshop. He took detailed information about the topics organized in the workshop. He patiently attended the few hours of lectures in the workshop and participated by asking questions to the relevant experts to get relevant information. Mr. Rajesh Singh Bayas Saheb, M.D., Lok Mangal Bank said that Sir was a Group Captain in the Indian Air Force. He had actively participated in the Indo-Pakistan wars of 1965 and 71. He was very bright and intelligent in his career. Some more information was obtained from the book "My Year with Indian Air Force" written by the respected Sir himself. He is still working with full force at his farm house in Belati Solapur. He is keen on learning new things about mango crops and keeps himself updated with new information. He has a deep knowledge base and shares his knowledge with everyone. We had a detailed discussion with him. It was very surprising to see this great man working so hard even at the age of 94. He is the father of respected Praveen Singh Pardeshi Sir. We have come to the conclusion that this is not possible without discipline, hard work, exercise and integrity. Visited the famous Agricultural Science Center KVK in Baramati. In 1992, the Agricultural Science Center affiliated to ICAR was established at Agriculture Development Trust Baramati. It is a national award-winning KVK. It works in sustainable agriculture for seven talukas of Pune district. This center works to ensure that all types of research in agricultural laboratories reach the farmers as soon as possible. Dr. Dheeraj Shinde, senior scientist and head of the center, Dr. Yashwant Jagdale, head of the Center of Excellence, Vegetable Quality Center, Baramati, gave detailed information about the entire KVK. Information about various innovative activities of KVK was given by Hon. Sunandatai Pawar, Agricultural Development Trust, Trustee, Bhimthadi Jatra, pioneer of Jalsandharan Scheme.
KVK Baramati developed hydroponics, poultry, bee research center, goat farm, dairy, etc. The research conducted here was informed. Here, facilities are installed under fish breeding, blue revolution using modern technology. Farmers are given good information about it and the system of fish seed supply and other details are also explained. They work on fish such as Pia Shilapi. In goat farming, meaty and tasty goats and goats that grow in the shortest time are prepared by crossing African and Australian.

A special training program for the Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen, and Directors of credit societies in Karad taluka was held on December 10, 2025, at the auditorium of the District Central Bank Divisional Office in Karad. This program was jointly organized by the Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation Limited, Pune, the District Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Satara, and the Satara District Cooperative Credit Societies Federation, with the cooperation of the Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Karad taluka. The training was inaugurated by Mrs. Aparna Yadav, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Karad. Present on the occasion were Mr. Arun Kakade, Divisional Coordinator, Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation, Pune, Mrs. Punyashila More and Mr. Sampatrao Shinde, Directors of the Satara District Credit Societies Federation, and Dr. M. A. Murudkar, Cooperative Officer, Kolhapur. 104 trainees participated in the program. A unique feature of this training was that it was specifically designed for the office bearers of credit societies. Mr. Arun Kakade, Divisional Coordinator of the Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation, while explaining the importance of the training, provided information about the various initiatives undertaken by the Corporation in the fields of agriculture, agro-processing, exports, and cooperation. Mrs. Aparna Yadav, Deputy Registrar, gave the introductory remarks for the training program. Mr. Sampatrao Shinde, Director, expressed his views on the training. During the training, Mrs. Khoche and Mrs. Mane, officers from the Cyber Cell of the Satara District Superintendent of Police office, along with their colleagues, provided important guidance on cyber security and precautions to be taken while using various apps. In the second session of the training, CA Mr. Dilip Gurav provided useful guidance on the topic of corporate governance. Dr. M. A. Murudkar guided the participants on financial parameters and financial literacy for credit societies, and also provided useful guidance on the rights and duties of the directors of credit societies, general meetings, and board meetings. Guidance and a discussion on the eligibility and disqualification criteria for directors as per election rules were provided to the trainees. At the end of the training session, a question-and-answer session related to the topic was held. Following this, some of the trainees expressed their views on the training program and expressed satisfaction with the program's planning. Thereafter, certificates were distributed to the participating trainees by Mrs. Aparna Yadav, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Karad. Pune organized the Agricultural Goods Export Training Program - Third Batch for five days from December 15 to December 19 at the Gyanjyoti Savitribai Phule Training Hall of the Corporation. On the first day, Mr. Mayur Kaul, Expert, Pune gave the first important lecture on the import-export code, RCMC, PAN, TAN, DIN, DSC, ICEGATE, AD CODE, terminology and matters of importance. The second lecture was given by Mr. Sunil Giram, Deputy Director, Horticulture, gave a useful lecture on agricultural goods export - Trace Net and related procedures. After that, an important lecture was given by Dr. Bhaskar Patil, Manager Marketing, M. C. D. C. on the current status and opportunities of agricultural goods export business. After that, the next lecture was given by Mr. Anant Savarkar Marketing Board on the documents required for export. On the second day of the training session, Sheetal Oswal, an export expert, gave a lecture on value addition of agricultural products, special processed products, and production methods. After that, Mr. Bipin Kakkar, an export consultant, gave an in-depth lecture on the export of milk products. After that, Mr. Soumya Patra, Assistant Manager, Ex Credit Guarantee Corporation, gave an in-depth lecture on the importance of ECGC in agricultural exports. After that, Mr. Shrikant Pachpore gave an important lecture on the branding and labeling of agricultural products to provide scientific information to the trainees. After that, Mr. Sanjay Parde, an expert, gave a lecture on the export of flowers. On the third day of the training, Mr. Junnarkar, a food processing technologist, gave an informative lecture on the global market for dehydration products. After that, Mr. Jaisingh Thorve, a renowned exporter, gave an important lecture on the precautions to be taken while starting exports, informing the trainees about his own experience. After that, Dr. Bhaskar Patil gave useful information. After that, Mr. Kanchan Kulkarni, Finance Expert, gave a very important lecture on preshipment/postshipment, finance, export payment, risk management. Then, Mr. Sachin More gave an important lecture on the MIDH scheme. On the fourth day of the training, Mr. Tushar Sutar gave a scholarly lecture on the topic of logistics system for exports. Then, Mr. Shantanu Jagtap and his colleagues, representatives of Maratha Chambers of Commerce gave an important lecture on the risks and precautions to be taken in exporting agricultural goods. Then, Mr. Sudarshan Narwade, Agriculture Expert, gave an important lecture on the PMFME scheme. Then, Mr. Tushar Kharkar, Export Expert, Marketing Board gave an informative lecture on his experience in exports. On the fifth day of the training, the trainees were taken to the Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Vashi, Mumbai for practical training. And some lectures were also organized at Vashi APMC. Sandeep Aher, Customs Agent, Mumbai gave a very informative lecture on the important topics of CHA responsibilities and functions, transit insurance. Shri Rudrash Barai, a renowned exporter, gave a lecture based on his own experience in exporting. Regarding the information about the irradiation facility process, Shri Sushil Chavan, Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board also gave a demonstration and important information about the facilities of the corporation at Vashi APMC. After that, a visit to the vegetable facility center, regarding the information about the process, Shri Abhimanyu Mane, Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board gave a demonstration and a very useful lecture related to it and explained the process there to the trainees. After that, a visit was made to the vapor heat treatment facility and pack house.

A one-day training program for the office bearers and employees of primary milk cooperative societies in Gadhinglaj and Ajra talukas of Kolhapur district was organized jointly by the Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation, Pune, and the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Dairy), Kolhapur, in collaboration with the Kolhapur District Milk Producers' Union (Gokul). The training was held in the hall of the Gokul Milk Union's center in Linganur, Gadhinglaj taluka. The training was inaugurated by Mrs. Anjana Redekar, Director of the Gokul Milk Union. Divisional Coordinator Mr. Arun Kakade was also present. The program's introduction was given by Mr. Pradeep Malgave, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Dairy), Kolhapur, who also shared his thoughts on the training. Mrs. Anita Shinde, Assistant Registrar of Gadhinglaj, and Cooperative Officer Mrs. Ranjana Kamble were also present. Mr. Ashok Madkari, Development Officer of Gokul Milk Union, Assistant Manager Mr. Krishnat Amte, and Divisional Manager Mr. Gaikwad were also in attendance. In her inaugural address, Director Mrs. Anjana Redekar gave a detailed explanation of the work of the Gokul Milk Union, the role of primary milk societies, and the future management of milk societies, and also emphasized the importance of the training. Mr. Pradeep Malgave, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Dairy), Kolhapur, stated that despite the presence of 5500 milk societies in the district, completing the training of representatives from over 500 societies in eight talukas during his tenure, with his personal presence, was a significant achievement being accomplished through the Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation, and he expressed his expectation that this work would be continued with even greater vigor in the future. He also noted that this was the first time such work was being undertaken in the history of the dairy and cooperative departments. 123 representatives attended the training. In the initial session of the training, expert guides from the dairy sector, Mr. Arvind Patil and Mr. Y. T. Patil Dairy Farm, Nanibai Chikhli, Kagal taluka, provided extremely comprehensive and in-depth guidance on cattle rearing, fodder management, shed management, animal care and maintenance, clean milk production, and the future growth of the dairy business, as well as the role of milk cooperatives in this regard. They also provided invaluable guidance on how to make Maharashtra a leading state in milk production and animal husbandry. In the second session of the training, Dr. M. P. Patil, a senior officer from Gokul, gave a detailed explanation of the schemes of the Central and State Governments, NDDB, and the Gokul Milk Union for the development of the dairy business. Following this, Senior Auditor Mr. Mangesh Jadhav provided important guidance on record-keeping and auditing for dairy cooperatives. In the final session of the training, Mr. Pradeep Malgave, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Dairy), Kolhapur, provided detailed guidance on meetings of office bearers of cooperative dairy societies, annual general meetings, and the eligibility and disqualification criteria for directors, as well as the election process. At the conclusion of the training, the representatives present expressed their satisfaction with the meticulous organization of the training and the topics covered, and demanded that similar training be conducted for milk producers as well. They also requested that the training be extended to two days. Certificates were then distributed to the participating trainees. Mr. Pradeep Malgave, Assistant Registrar (Dairy), Kolhapur, played a key role in the successful organization of this training. Gokul officers Mr. Madkari and Mr. Amte also played a major role in the smooth conduct of the training program. Mr. Anil Chikne, Government Auditor, Kolhapur, also worked diligently to ensure the proper organization of the training. Mr. Omkar Pudale assisted in the program. Finally, the training concluded after a vote of thanks.

A three-day training program on "Cultivation of Exotic Vegetables," organized by the Maharashtra Cooperative Federation, saw participation from 12 highly educated young individuals from farming families across Maharashtra, due to the increasing demand for this business. Their interest is now shifting from traditional farming to the cultivation of exotic vegetables. Accordingly, on the first day of the training program organized by the Federation, participants received guidance from Mr. Jaysing Thorve, Director of Indrayani Krishi Farm. This included in-depth information on cultivation, business opportunities from local to global markets, market demand, business management, and his journey from employment to becoming an entrepreneur, along with the challenges he faced. On the second day, a visit to his dispatch unit and farm provided a practical understanding of the extensive scope of this business, and Mr. Thorve's journey to becoming a successful entrepreneur through hard work and dedication was evident. On the third day of the training, participants received guidance from Mr. Rajiv Kulkarni, an import-export expert, and Mr. Hemant Jagtap, who provided important information on the technical aspects of cultivating exotic vegetables in shade nets and polyhouses, as well as details about NHM subsidies. Following this, Dr. Vairagade provided guidance on business management, and Mr. Milind Mohite offered important information on disease control, plant care and maintenance, and various spraying techniques. During the certificate distribution ceremony, Mr. Mangesh Titkare, Managing Director of MCDC, and Mr. Digambar Sable, Head of the Training Department, presented certificates to all the trainees. Mr. Revankumar Gade, the training coordinator, expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries and participants.
On the occasion of the International Year of Cooperation 2025, a one-day training program was organized jointly by the Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation, Pune, and the District Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Pune, for the officers, office bearers, and employees of urban and rural non-agricultural and employee cooperative credit societies in Daund taluka of Pune district. The program was held in Daund on 29 th December 2025.

The day before yesterday, I visited the 'Yashada' office and paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Shekhar Gaikwad, the independent director of the Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation, and also launched the corporation's booklet, 'Maha-Sahakar'. Taking advantage of the International Year of Women Farmers, a one-day capacity building training program for women's self-help groups (SHGs) under the Pradhan Mantri Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme (PMFME) was organized on January 9, 2026, jointly by the Agriculture Department Pune, Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation Pune, and Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM) Pune. The training concluded at the Dnyanjyoti Savitribai Phule Auditorium, Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation, Sugar Complex, Shivajinagar, Pune. Present on the occasion were Mr. Mangesh Titkare, Managing Director, Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation Pune, Mr. Digambar Sable - Head of Department (Training) MCDC Pune, and Mr. Mayur Pawar - Training Officer, MCDC Pune, among other dignitaries. A total of 30 women from 8 self-help groups established under MSRLM participated in the training. On January 17, 2026, I was present for breakfast at Devi Bhavan Palace, Miraj, at the special invitation of His Highness Madhavraje Patwardhan of Miraj State. Various topics were discussed. His Highness showed particular interest in the corporation's various training programs, as well as the forward linkages of FPC/Os, and inquired about them in detail. He also graciously presented me with a copy of his book, "Navigating Law School in India - A Compass for Prospective Law Students."
Under the auspices of the Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation and the District Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Sangli, and in collaboration with the Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Urban Cooperative Credit Society, Sangli, a one-day training program was organized today, Saturday, for the board of directors, branch managers, and office bearers of the 67 branches of the Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Urban Cooperative Credit Society in Kolhapur, Sangli, and Satara. This credit society, which carries on the legacy of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil, boasts deposits of ₹1246 crore, loans of ₹953 crore, 67,000 satisfied customers, a paid-up capital of ₹4385 crore, and a profit of ₹15.89 crore in the last financial year, distributing a 15% dividend based on merit. Its distinguishing features include strict adherence to ethical values and ideals, implementation of rules, and a rigorous recovery program. The Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation organized this one-day training program for the institution's board of directors, 67 branch directors, and office bearers at the society's head office in Sangli. Over 125 trainees were present. The institution's chairperson, Mrs. Bharati Chopade, Mr. Magdum, CA Sunil Nagaonkar, and my colleague Mr. Arun Kakade were also present. Dr. M.A. Murudkar delivered two lectures: one on revenue records, providing information about the 7/12 extract, 8-A extract, and other revenue entries, and the institution's loan burden records. People are always eager to attend his lectures. The second lecture was on accurate loan recovery procedures and ideal and legal recovery methods. Renowned CA Mr. Sunil Nagaonkar from the Sangli-Kolhapur region delivered two important lectures: one on loan policy and credit appraisal, and the other on customer identification policy. In addition, Mr. Arun Kakade, Divisional Manager of Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation, delivered useful lectures on two topics: financial parameters and a reflection on the future of credit societies. Finally, the certificate distribution and closing ceremony were conducted by Mrs. Bharati Chopade, Chairperson, Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Urban Cooperative Credit Society, Sangli, Mr. Adv. S. P. Magdum, Vice Chairman, and Mr. Arun Kakade, Divisional Coordinator, MCDC. Mr. Anil Magdum, Executive Director, Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Urban Cooperative Credit Society, Sangli, delivered the vote of thanks. The certificate distribution ceremony for the eight-day "Solar PV Installation Training" program, organized by the Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation, Sugar Complex, Shivajinagar, Pune, from January 12th to January 21st, was held at the government office of the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA), Pune. Mr. Mangesh Titkare, Managing Director, Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation, Pune. The training program was successfully conducted at MEDA in the presence of Mr. Digambar Sable, Head of Department, Training, MCDC Pune, and the guide for the "Solar Panel Installation Training," Mr. Shankarrao Akkalkote, Director of Sahyadri Electricals, Hadapsar, Pune. 23 trainees from Akola, Ahilyanagar, Nevasa, Sangamner, Saswad, Daund, and Pune enrolled in this paid training program on solar panel installation. In the 8-day training program, Mr. Akkalkote, the instructor, spontaneously and generously shared all the technical information. The program included two site visits, entrepreneurial information, discussions with successful entrepreneurs and their success stories, guidance from Mr. Shirsat, General Manager of MEDA, Mr. Nilesh Rohankar, Additional Executive Engineer of Mahavitaran, as well as Mr. Suresh Umap (BYST), Mr. Sunil Shete, Mr. Abhay Jawalge, Mr. Kumar Pawar, Mrs. Vidya Kadam, Mr. Kapte, Mr. Suraj from SUNTECH, and Ms. Alfiya. Their contributions made the training program a success. Mr. Hemant Jagtap, Senior Training Officer of MCDC, played a valuable role and conducted the proceedings. Mr. Revankumar Gade, Training Coordinator of MCDC, expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries and trainees for their collective efforts in making the entire training program a success, weaving together online, offline, and hybrid grid concepts like a solar network, and maintaining energy throughout. Through this training program, and like the sweetness of Sankranti, the relationship between two major institutions, MCDC and MEDA, will continue to flourish like an online grid, working together extensively in Maharashtra through training programs in the future.
On January 21, 2026, Shri Ganpatrao Appasaheb Patil, a senior and respected director of Shri Datt Shetkari Sahakari Sugar Factory, Shirol, Kolhapur, along with the factory's chairman, Hon. Shri R.D. Patil, Managing Director Shri M.V. Patil, and the board of directors, paid a courtesy visit to the Maharashtra Cooperative Federation. On this occasion, the respected Ganpatrao Patil inquired in detail and with great interest about the innovative training programs that the Federation could conduct for the benefit of the general farmer members in its operational area. He also gathered information about the new initiatives being undertaken by the Federation and extended a cordial invitation to visit the factory, including for training programs. Last year, a one-day cooperative training program for the factory's board of directors and officers was successfully conducted by the Federation, thanks to the encouragement of the respected Ganpatrao Patil. The event featured the release of five books: 'Sarkari Rutuchakra' written by the esteemed Shekhar Gaikwad, IAS (Retd.), Independent Director of the Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation; 'Gav Vikasatun Rashtra Vikas' (Village Development through National Development), 'Spardha Pariksha Planner', and 'Jagaycha Kasa' (How to Live), all written by Mr. Rajiv Nandkar, Additional District Collector; and 'Sara Parker and the Witch's Revenge', the second book by twelve-year-old author Kumari Aradhya Nandkar. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the esteemed Bharat Sasane, IAS (Retd.), Mr. Milind Joshi, and Dr. Sangeeta Barve. Everyone was cordially invited to attend this ceremony. A three-day training program on "Mushroom Production and Cultivation Technology" was organized by the Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation from January 29th to 31st, 2026, at the Dnyanjyoti Savitribai Phule Auditorium of the Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation. Trainees from Nagpur, Baramati, Thane, Talegaon, Pune, Junnar, Nashik, and Shirur participated in the training. During this mushroom training, emphasis was placed not only on mushroom production but also on value-added mushroom products. Two different sessions were conducted on this topic. Mr. Bhokare and Mrs. Kalpana Baviskar, director of Himgiri Mushroom and Mumbai Organic companies, provided information on the growing market concept of "Frozen and Retort = ready-to-eat (RTE) products." Scientific guidance was provided by mycologist Mr. Chirme, entrepreneurial guidance by Mr. Umap, business management by Mr. Shete, marketing by Mrs. Vidya, and information on NHM schemes by Mrs. Kanse. On the last day, Mrs. Chetna Kiran Pawar, director of Siddharth Mushrooms from Nashik, shared her 25 years of experience through practical demonstrations, which boosted the confidence of all the trainees. On Monday, February 9, 2026, Hon. Shri Milind Akare Saheb, Director NIPHT paid a goodwill visit to Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation. During the visit, he had a positive discussion about who can work with the National Institute of Post Harvest Technology Institute, Talegaon Dabhade and Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation in which field. He also insisted that the corporation should work together with NIPHT in various fields. Hon. The two-day 13th World Spices Conference organized by NNS Media was successfully concluded at Rajasthan International Exhibition Centre, Jaipur. A total of 16 directors and CEOs of nine farmer producer companies/organizations working under the Central Government sponsored 10,000 Farmer Producer Company Establishment and Strengthening Project of Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation participated in this international conference. In-depth guidance was provided by renowned experts on various important topics related to the spice sector in the conference. In this, detailed information was given about the import-export process of spices in the global market, spice exhibition stalls of various renowned companies, special experts implementing innovative activities in the spice sector, as well as the increasing importance of branding and packaging in spices. Along with this, in-depth analysis and guidance was received from experts on the current prices of major spices such as turmeric, cumin, red chili, coriander etc., the price status in previous years and the expected prices in the future. Honorable Agriculture Minister of the Government of Rajasthan Kirodi Lal Meena was present as the chief guest for this program. Also, a large number of representatives of renowned companies doing remarkable work in the spice sector across the country, including NNS Chief Rajesh Gupta, participated.
